How SoundHub collects, uses and protects personal data.
SoundHub publishes audio gear reviews, buying guides and reference articles. This policy explains what data the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
SoundHub is an editorial site about audio gear. You can reach us through the contact page.
What we collect
- Contact form. When you send a message we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use it only to reply.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide so we can send the newsletter. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and response status. This is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.
- Administrator sessions. Editors sign in to the content management system with a secure session cookie. Visitors do not receive this cookie.
Cookies
The public site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The administration area uses a session cookie so an editor stays signed in; it is not present for ordinary visitors.
Analytics
The site does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If analytics is added, this section will name the provider, the data collected and how to opt out before it goes live.
Embedded content
Articles may embed media from other sites, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that site directly, so those providers may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. Data is processed by the infrastructure providers that run the site: Cloudflare (hosting, database and media storage) and our email provider for messages and newsletters. They process data on our instructions.
How long we keep data
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable record of correspondence. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short retention period for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you subscribed to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe from any issue.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
